How to use Reset Handmist: the five-second ritual

How to use Reset Handmist: the five-second ritual

Reset Handmist takes about five seconds to use. But a few small details make it work better, both as a hand sanitizer and as a small break in your day.

The ritual, step by step

1. Reset: five sprays into open palms

Hold the bottle a few centimetres from your hands and give five sprays into your open palms. That's enough to cover both hands properly, which matters: a sanitizer only works where it touches.

2. Restore: rub until dry

Rub your palms together, then the backs of your hands, between your fingers and around your fingertips and thumbs. Keep going until your hands feel dry, about five seconds. Don't wipe it off.

3. Repeat: breathe in

Bring your hands up and take one slow breath. This is the part most people skip, and the part that makes it a reset rather than a chore.

How often can I use it?

As often as you like. Most people use it five to ten times a day. The four skincare actives (Pentavitin®, Aquaxyl™, Niacinamide and Vitamin E) are there so frequent use doesn't leave your hands dry.

Good moments for a reset

  • After the metro, an auto or a cab ride
  • Before you eat, especially on the go
  • After touching door handles, lift buttons, shared keyboards or someone else's phone
  • Before and after a meeting
  • Mid-flight (at 35ml it's within the 100ml carry-on limit)
  • Any time you want a pause

Carrying it

Every bottle comes with a keychain clip. Clip it to your bag strap, backpack or keys, so it's always in reach. If it's easy to grab, you'll actually use it.

A few don'ts

  • Hands only. Don't use it on your face.
  • It's 70% alcohol, so it's flammable. Let it dry fully before going near a flame, and keep it away from heat.
  • Keep it out of reach of children.
  • It sanitizes, but it doesn't replace soap and water when your hands are visibly dirty.
